Say ‘Hello’ to Jen Margiotta, our July Dealer Spotlight!
How long has Koons Ford Silver Spring been serving the community?
Jen: Koons Ford Silver Spring has proudly served the community since 2011. For the past 15 years, we’ve built lasting relationships by helping local families and businesses find the right vehicles for their personal and business needs.
What is Koons Ford Silver Spring’s favorite way to give back to the local area?
Jen: Our favorite way to give back is by stepping up when our community needs us most. During COVID, we supported local residents and essential workers, and during challenging times—such as tariff uncertainty and other economic pressures—we’ve looked for ways to help all those around us by providing added value and making buying a car more feasible during tough times because even during those times, people need vehicles. We also proudly support local organizations, community events, and the businesses that keep our area moving by participating in a variety of ways such as serving in soup kitchens, fundraising for area schools, and sponsoring sporting events and art festivals.
What is your role at the dealership?
Jen: I am the Marketing Director for Koons Motors.
How has Work Truck Solutions helped you in your role?
Jen: It provides invaluable insight and metrics that I wouldn't otherwise know, which allows us to adjust marketing strategies at any given moment. Work Truck Solutions makes it easier for customers to find the exact commercial vehicles they need and gives us a better way to showcase our inventory online, highlight important body and equipment details, and connect businesses with the right work-ready vehicles more efficiently. The Business Builder tool has helped drive much more traffic to our website and put our inventory in front of a much larger audience.
What's your favorite thing about working with commercial trucks?
Jen: My favorite part is knowing that these vehicles directly support someone’s livelihood and serve our community. Every business has different needs, and it’s rewarding to help a customer find a truck or van that makes their operation safer, easier, and more productive, and, in turn, allows them to provide their services to those who need them.
What's one piece of advice you would like to give that has helped you throughout your career?
Jen: Always listen to your customers and adapt. Marketing is constantly evolving, and for sales, understanding what your audience needs and communicating with them in a clear, authentic way will always be essential. And always keep learning! I learn something new almost every day.
Would you recommend Work Truck Solutions to other dealerships? Why?
Jen: Yes, absolutely. Work Truck Solutions helps dealerships present commercial inventory more effectively and makes it easier for customers to find vehicles that match their specific business needs. It saves time for both the customer and the dealership while helping generate more qualified opportunities.
...that commercial buyers browsing your inventory on Comvoy get instant, flexible financing quotes directly on your VDPs? Through our API integration with Taycor Financial—a financing leader specializing in equipment and commercial vehicle loans—a "Vehicle Financing" section is live under the pricing box on all Comvoy VDPs.
This feature displays an estimated monthly payment for the specific vehicle. 5 Bizarre Summer Camps for the Next Generation
Summer is peak season for moving commercial inventory, managing fleet logistics, and keeping the service bays spinning. If you need the kids out of the house so you can focus on hitting your Q3 targets, skip the standard lakeside cabins. Here are the top 5 weirdest specialty summer camps where you can ship off the kids this year to clear your calendar.
1. Zombie Apocalypse Camp (Burlington, MA)
Campers use STEM skills, basic circuit building, and tactical Nerf blaster strategies to survive simulated zombie outbreaks. It serves as excellent crisis-management training, preparing them for the day your parts department faces a sudden supply chain shutdown.
2. Camp Motorsport (Clover, VA)
Designed specifically for young gearheads who haven't hit the legal driving age yet, kids spend their days learning to operate and maintain ATVs and dirt bikes on private tracks. It gets the next generation comfortable with high-horsepower machinery early—a smart long-term investment in your future dealership service techs.
3. Hollywood Stunt Camp (Idyllwild, CA)
Thrill-seeking kids are taught how to safely leap off buildings, handle stage combat weapons, and execute high-flying tumbling routines. If they can master jumping off roofs without a scratch, they will easily handle the daily bumps and bruises of a busy heavy-duty truck lot.
4. Secret Agent Spy Camp (Lake Como, PA)
This camp trains kids in the arts of espionage, including stealth escape tactics, tactical martial arts, surveillance, and code-breaking. It is a perfect way to train the kids to quietly scope out the inventory, pricing models, and trade-in tactics of the competing dealership down the highway.
5. Flying Trapeze Circus Camp (Hancock, NY)
Campers trade campfires for the big top, learning how to ride unicycles, perform clown routines, and fly through the air on a high trapeze. Dealership managers already spend every day juggling inventory, staffing shortages, and customer demands, so you might as well give the kids a head start on learning the family business.
Whether you want your kids learning to turn wrenches, crack codes, or safely jump off roofs, packing them off to a specialty camp clears the deck at home. With the distractions handled, you can keep your eyes on the real prize: moving heavy metal, clearing the lot, and crushing your summer sales goals.
